How Sensing Edges Work

Photo Optics

Non-contact, infra-red obstruction detection that signal controls to stop and/or reverse motion.

Photo optics are ideal for high-traffic areas or fast-moving systems. When the beam is broken by an obstruction, the system is signaled to respond.
- Use for: Doorways, boarding bridges, conveyor systems, and more.
Options:
- Retro-Reflective: One-sided detection using a reflective target
- Thru-Beam: Uses a long-range emitter and receiver and a single beam
- Light Curtains: Multiple thru beams create a blanket of detection
