Doors, Gates, and Barriers

This manufacturer-specific 3-part specification is formatted to CSI MasterFormat™ Section 08 78 00 and created using Reed Construction Data’s MANU-SPEC® system. Steel Sliding Hangar Doors

This federal specification is part of the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), issued by USACE, NAVFAC, and AFCESA for use in U.S. military and government construction. Section 08342 outlines mandatory use of fail-safe electric sensing edges on steel sliding hangar doors and details their required coverage, performance, and integration with the door control system.

The specification defines how sensing edges must respond to obstruction, interface with relay systems, and allow for keyed bypass reset and alert signaling. It supports low-voltage wiring (24V max) and calls for sealed, chemical-resistant construction.
