Swing Gate Safety

Swing gates present multiple entrapment hazards—especially near hinge points, leading edges, and posts. Miller Edge safety sensors are engineered to help safeguard these zones with pressure-sensitive edges, non-contact photo optics, and accessories that provide maximum flexibility. Our field-proven designs help simplify compliance with UL 325 for reliable, code-ready installations.

Sensing Edges
Target safeguarding of entrapment and hazard zones created by the open and close cycles of an automated vehicular gate with a Miller Edge sensing edge. Custom configured for length, wire outlet location, and the monitoring method required by the gate operator. Assemble-in-the-field sensing edges are a cost-effective option that can be configured at the job site. Mounting channels and wireless edge systems are available to accommodate any gate installation.

Photo Optics
When optimally positioned, Miller Edge photo optics provide non-contact safeguarding of entrapment zones created by the open and close cycles of an automated vehicular gate.

Gate illustrations show common product placement locations to consider when protecting entrapment zones, however each installation is unique and must comply with certain safety standards and local codes. Be sure to consider all potential safety hazards and incorporate appropriate Miller Edge guarding into your overall gate design. Please read your gate operator’s manual and follow manufacturer’s requirements.
